Pancake Mix Doughnuts

oil for deep frying
2 c. Duncan Hines buttermilk pancake mix
1 c. milk
1 egg
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Fill pan for deep frying 2/3's full with Crisco. Heat Crisco to 365 degrees. Oil to 375 degrees. Combine pancake mix and 1/4 cup sugar. Add milk and egg; stir until pancake mix is moistened. Fry doughnuts, immediately by dropping a few at a time from a teaspoon into hot grease or oil. Brown doughnuts on both sides, then drain on paper towels. Measure 3/4 cup sugar and cinnamon into plastic or paper bag. Add a few doughnuts at a time shake to coat them with cinnamon sugar mixture. Extra good served warm. Yield: 3 dozen 1 3/4 inch doughnut balls.

This is such a easy, fun, and yummy snack!
I make this a lot.
Reminds me of Masada s from Hawaii .
Add a little nutmeg and use buttermilk.
I roll them in Cinnamon sugar

PORTUGUESE DOUGHNUTS
2 c. Bisquick baking mix (dry) 1 c. milk 1 egg 1 tsp. lemon or vanilla extract 4 slices white bread, cut into 36 pieces Sugar Heat oil to 375 degrees (I use electric fry pan). Stir batter ingredients together. Dip bread squares into batter. Fry in oil until brown on both sides. Drain on paper towel. Roll in sugar. Serve hot.

Sweet Fries Pound Cake Recipe from Dassant

Ingredients

• For Cake:

• 2 large eggs
• 1/3 cup vegetable oil
• 1/4 cup water
• [Note: Can be prepared up to 2 days ahead.]

• Frosting:

• Store bought vanilla frosting
• 1/2 teaspoon red food coloring

Directions

• For Batter

• Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease 8x4 loaf pan with cooking spray or melted butter. Combine eggs, oil, and water. Add mix. Blend together until batter is smooth. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes.

• For Fries

• Preheat the oven broiler on high. Slice prepared loaf into 1/2-inch thick slices using a vegetable crinkle cutter. Then crosscut slices into strips. Place strips on baking sheet and broil, rotating on all sides until golden brown.

• Frosting

• Take 1/2 container of vanilla frosting and add food coloring, tinting until bright red.
